MISSION STATEMENT
“The Mousam Way Land Trust is dedicated to the conservation of special places in the Sanford-Springvale and surrounding areas for public use and future generations. Through preserving its unique natural resources, agricultural and ecological areas of interest, its plant and animal life, as well as historic and scenic sites, to ensuring continued access for recreation and educational opportunities, we achieve a healthier, stronger community for all.”
Our preservation activities include:
- Water Resources– shore lands and wetlands.
- Wildlife Habitat– particularly those identified by the Maine Natural Areas Program.
- Open Space– Farmland and forest.
- Unique Sites– Historic and scenic.
- Public Access– Trails and linear parks.
- Education & Research– Outdoor classrooms and study areas, greenhouse, botanical nursery, community garden, ecology center.
